Position Title: Member of the Parks Advisory Committee
Department or Program Overview: Established December 21, 1994, the Parks Advisory Committee reviews, advises, and makes recommendations to the Board and to parks staff on matters related to the county's park and marine facilities. The famous Columbia River hugs our shoreline, offering some of the most exceptional recreation opportunities anywhere. Columbia County is fortunate to have this recreational resource and has, in turn, developed a full-service parks system, offering direct access to the nation's second-largest river system.
The Committee shall consist of seven members, representing various geographical areas of the county, appointed by the Board of County Commissioners (the Board). Appointments are staggered to ensure continuity. Terms are for 4 years.
Meeting Schedule and Location: Quarterly at the Columbia County Courthouse or other designated location.

Position Reports To: The Director of General Services is appointed to manage and staff the committee and act as liaison between the committee and the Board.
Expectations: Be reliable, act responsibly and with integrity, be accountable for your actions, carry out duties according to the position description, be committed to Columbia County and your tour of service, undertake training as required, ask for support when needed, be courteous to participants, staff, other volunteers and value and support other team members.
Additional Training: Volunteer Orientation training will be provided.
