Data Analyst II
Duration: 37 weeks (Potential extension/FT Conversion)
Location: Philadelphia, PA (ONSITE 4x a week)
Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Analyst II to join our team on a contract basis. This individual will leverage advanced analytical techniques to deliver actionable insights that influence business decisions in areas like strategy, business planning, competition, KPI development, and process optimization. The ideal candidate is not only proficient in gathering and analyzing data but also capable of presenting key findings and strategic recommendations to stakeholders to drive business success.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Conduct high-level data analysis, leveraging large datasets and multiple techniques to address complex business needs and influence KPIs and objectives.
+ Collaborate with management to refine methodologies and provide additional insights, showing independence and initiative.
+ Utilize statistical principles to ensure the accuracy of measurements and key performance indicators.
+ Extract and process data through advanced SQL techniques, maintaining best practices and performance tuning across multiple platforms.
+ Act as the subject matter expert on data sources and methodologies, ensuring selections align with business goals.
+ Validate datasets to identify inconsistencies and implement solutions in collaboration with leadership.
+ Partner with data quality and architecture teams to shape requirements for ingesting and automating data solutions.
+ Create reports, visualizations, and presentations that effectively communicate insights and align with stakeholder expectations.
+ Translate technical methodologies into accessible language for varying audiences, demonstrating strong communication skills.
+ Build impactful visuals that clearly convey analytical narratives in alignment with business objectives.
+ Proactively conduct reviews to refine deliverables, ensuring high-quality outputs.
+ Monitor annual KPI trends and analyze their correlation with business performance, identifying significant shifts and dependencies.
+ Manage and document project plans, keeping stakeholders informed of roadblocks and progress while respecting timelines.
+ Participate in workstreams, departmental objectives, and training as necessary.
Requirements
Technical Expertise:
+ Proficiency in SQL/Teradata
+ Advanced skills in Tableau, PowerPoint/Think-Cell, and Excel
+ Working knowledge of Python/R and data modeling (preferred but not mandatory)
Education and Experience:
+ Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent experience.
+ Preferred: MBA.
+ Typically requires 3-4 years of related experience.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong presentation skills with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with meticulous attention to detail.

+ Proven ability to tie statistical analyses to business strategy and actionable insights.
+ Demonstrated proficiency in executing tasks on time with high-quality results.
+ Familiarity with Jira for tracking tasks and projects is a plus.
+ Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
